Artist Information
John began his fine arts career late in life to fulfill his desire to express his innate creativity. He was so excited upon the completion of his first oil painting he knew he wanted to learn much more. So, he has worked with several nationally known aritsts to grab the knowledge of the techniques to paint beautiful paintings.
John paints scenes familiar to him from the days of his youth when he was an active backpacker. He also draws inspiration from his travels around the country and other sources. His breadth of painting subjects range from landscapes to seascapes to still life, florals and more. Some of his works of art are fictitious with elements of “truth,” some are completely from an envisioned scene in the artist’s mind and others are based on recollections of actual locations John has visited.
While he has instructed privately for years, he became a Certified Instructor with Alexander Art in 2007 and now instructs workshops in his local area and at remote locations. He has provided demonstration paintings for a number of art associations and continues to receive invitations for his informative, yet entertaining demonstration painting sessions.
John believes sincerely fine art painting is meant to be fun and enjoyed by viewers AND the artist alike. His workshops are always fun, informative and entertaining.
